Did you know….

Did you know…

… that you can actually get charged a PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE, for paying your credit card more than twice (2 times) a month?

This happened to me, with one of the major credit card issuers
any times and as much as you can to avoid being charged with finance fees, that is so lame. So the next time you pay for your card, think again. Count the number of times you have paid in a month. Count again just to make sure. Else, being diligent in paying without being equally diligent about COUNTING the times you have made payments for your card, would result the same thing : FEES ( conveniently charged to your account of course; thank you mightily!)

Which bank am I referring to? You PM me, and maybe, just maybe, I will tell. But I probably will not tell, baka ma-charge ulit ako.

THE FINE PRINT

But I suggest you read the fine print at the back of your billing statements, so that you will know the (creative) ways by which you will get charged for a wide array of (surprising) things regarding your cards. Go get your glasses, you will need it.

Flight Attendants in A Fight Over Lousy Bangs

Have received an email last night about two sisters, “Lourdes and Michelle”, “allegedly” Flight Attendants of a respected and high-class airline, Emirates. It was “supposedly” a letter from a certain writer of Philstar, “Mons”, and it chronicles the not-so-savory encounter in one beauty salon.

What i found odd about the email is that, there are two ID picture-type shots of the two sisters. Where did those come from?@*~ It would have been more believable if it was a phone video footage, complete with shaky hands shot, whispered narration, poor illumination and pixelation, hekhehe.

If the story was true, then that was so “un-classy” of the sisters. High class pa naman ang airline na un. Lesson, let us NOT be so high-up-in-the-clouds, that we all look down on others from the end of our noses. That should tell you something about pressurized cabins – it is not compatible with anger management.

If that did not happen at all, ano kaya ito, character assassination?

and, btw, if that was a real letter, written by a real person, addressed to a real Emirates officer, regarding a real incident, involving real sisters, then my question is:

SINO ANG NAG-LEAK NYAN SA INTERNET!!! Confidential kaya dapat yun! Ahuhuy! Lagot kayo…

See what others are talking about or here.

is it true or not?

Para maiba lang. hehe

Here is TAINTED LOVE, substitute sa mga google searches for TAINTED MILK

Tainted Love
====
Sometimes I feel I’ve got to
Run away I’ve got to
Get away
From the pain that you drive into the heart of me
The love we share
Seems to go nowhere
I’ve lost my lights
I toss and turn I can’t sleep at night

Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I’ll run from you
This tainted love you’ve given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that’s not nearly all
Tainted love
Tainted love

Now I know I’ve got to
Run away I’ve got to
Get away
You don’t really want any more from me
To make things right
You need someone to hold you tight
You think love is to pray
I’m sorry I don’t pray that way

Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I’ll run from you
This tainted love you’ve given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that’s not nearly all
Tainted love
Tainted love

Insensitive

by Jann Arden

How do you cool your lips
After a summers kiss
How do you rid the sweat
After the body bliss
How do you turn your eyes
From the romantic glare
How do you block the sound
Of a voice youd know anywhere

Oh, I really should have known
By the time you drove me home
By the vagueness in your eyes
Casual good-byes
By the chill in your embrace
The expression on your face
That told me
You might have some advice to give
On how to be
Insensitive

How do you numb your skin
After the warmest touch
How do you slow your blood
After the body rush
How do you free your soul
After youve found a friend
How do you teach your heart
Its a crime to fall in love again

Oh, you probably wont remember me
Its probably ancient history
Im one of the chosen few
Who went ahead and fell for you
Im out of vogue, Im out of touch
I fell too fast, I feel too much
I thought that you might have
Some advice to give on how to be
Insensitive

Tainted Milk

Tainted milk from China. Sigh….

Pa’no na ang white rabbit creamy chewy candy (kung nakakain ang papel na balat, remember?)?

I fear that even soft ice cream and “scramble” (street version ice slush concoction, usually topped with chocolate syrup and milk powder), are all going to be affected.

Just tell your kids to be extra careful in buying foodstuffs on the street containing milk.

The question is, how can we be sure that fast food and cafe stuff do not use china milk as creamers, cakes, ice cream and so on?

The Obedient Horse

Thank God

There’s this guy who had been lost and walking in the desert for about 2 weeks. One hot day, he sees the home of a missionary.

Tired and weak, he crawls up to the house and collapses on the doorstep. The missionary finds him and nurses him back to health.

Feeling better, the man asks the missionary for directions to the nearest town. On his way out the backdoor, he sees this horse.

He goes back into the house and asks the missionary, “Could I borrow your horse and give it back when I reach the town?”

The missionary says, “Sure but there is a special thing about this horse. You have to say ‘Thank God’ to make it go and ‘Amen’ to make it stop.”

Not paying much attention, the man says, “Sure, OK.”

So he gets on the horse and says, “Thank God” and the horse starts walking. Then he says, “Thank God, thank God, ” and the horse starts trotting.

Feeling really brave, the man says, “Thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God” and the horse just takes off.

Pretty soon he sees this cliff coming up and he’s doing everything he can to make the horse stop.

“Whoa, stop, hold on!!!!”
Finally he remembers, “Amen!!”

The horse stops 4 inches from the cliff. The man leans back in the saddle, takes a deep breath and says, “Thank God!”

Trust vs Money

So sad that for some people, they would readily (and repeatedly) trade your trust to him/her so that he/she can get monetary gain.
Kakalungkot lang, pagtiwalaan mo ang isang tao, tapos manloloko ng kapwa para magkaroon sya ng pera, gagamitin ka pa sa kalokohan nya. Money gained from dishonest means is money lost, pronto. Kasama pang mawawala ang self-worth at dignity ng nangloko. But I doubt it if this person I am talking about is in any way concerned about her dignity, or her family’s dignity. Or may be I am wrong…? But still, there are many reasons for being a thief, but the end does not justify the means. How can one take it to feed your family and kids with food bought with dishonest money?

For the love of money… haayyyy

To Diane, Happy birthday!

Personally, I was a bit surprised when I saw Judy Ann doing an infomercial for Meralco. Surprising that such an actress with a generally likeable and “masa” image have gone and made a commercial defending an indefensible issue. Indefensible given the fact that almost all Filipinos are on watch and slowly simmering, waiting if this hoopla about Meralco’s alleged overcharging ever bears fruit and we all can get refunds from our bills. And now they put a face for all Filipinos to identify and channel this irritation, this anger for being “overcharged” by Meralco. It is the innocent face of Juday, unfortunately.

When I saw her in the infomercials, the thoughts going through my mind : “Everyone has a price”… “Juday is going to get it from the Pinoys… too bad, tsk..” Sorry for being somewhat “judgmental”, Juday.

For can one help it if one thinks that Juday has been paid a hefty fee for doing this commercial on something so hot an issue? Did she realize that she is going against most Filipinos’ natural tendency to go refute everything Meralco says on the issue since they (the Filipinos) are suffering stakeholders in the grand (Meralco) scheme of things?

I heard Juday is “devastated” by all the negative reaction from the masses. Did she expect less? Was she coaxed, forced or threatened to do this commercial? Did she think that her popularity can really help diffuse the Pinoys’ demand for transparency (and if possible, refund) from Meralco, without her being lumped together with the company? I am not angry or anything here. I have an inkling that she has been convinced and/or used to do the commercial, without benefit of good advice and sufficient time to think everything over. Hey, this is not a matter of endorsing a brand of shampoo, slimming capsules, nor a set of plastic wares. Not by a long shot..

Pity. I truly admired her, her wholesome “masa” image, and with the latest good film Ploning… tsk, tsk… But nonetheless, for you Juday, remember that this, too, shall pass… Cheer up, face up and defend yourself if need be. Move on and be wiser for the experience.

Now, on the matter of Meralco. It is a good thing that I, myself, is yet incapable of generating my own electricity to power up all the appliances that we have, including this laptop, the dsl modem, the tv, ref, stereo, so on…. For if only I can generate my own (or if I can go back to prehistoric times where electricity is yet to be discovered), siguro nagpaputol na ko ng kuryente. But until then, I must retain your “services” :(
