Self-satisfied: self-contained.
Not bothering: always vain
Contented with life’s delights;
Standing, looking from the heights.
In life’s most popular game
Which all end up with losers,
just the same.
In my vanity, I’ve challenged
the fates by name
Mighty fates
I challenge you by all that’s great
In this game, humble me
Else to you, I’ll lose my faith.
The game commenced with me in the lead.
I was hard, I was tough
Never relent, never succumb
Told myself, else the fates would deem me weak.
But in the end,
My high castle
Came a-crumbling
Down.
